Samantha + Alvin 6.27.09

Alvin and I go back a few years, well maybe a more than a few now.  We actually went to elementary and high school together, after those many years later he was talking with a school teacher of ours who I know, she suggested he contact me about photographing their wedding. It was great seeing Alvin’s family and Sandy, the teacher responsible for connecting us together.

We had yet another beautiful day for an outdoor wedding, and at a location like Laurel Creek Manor there was plenty of great spots for photos. When we first arrived we checked out the property to find the best locations for photos, and then decided to do their first look underneath the porch, the lighting was great there, considering it was mid-afternoon.  Then it was off to do family portraits under the shade of the large trees scattered throughout the grounds.

The heartfelt and at times, entertaining ceremony commenced shortly after photos. We then took Samantha and Alvin for some private photos while the staff reset the chairs for the outdor reception.

Thank you Samantha and Alvin for letting us capture your celebration, we hope you enjoyed your trip to Belize.

If you were a guest at their wedding and you’d like to view the photos,  you can click here to view them, once they are available online.

Katie + Pat 6.13.09

It’s not many times that I get to be a second shooter, but it’s always a welcome opportunity.  I met up with the guys at Pickering Barn in Issauah.  This location would be perfect fit for this wedding as it was a country/western theme.  The guys all had cowboy hats and boots with their tuxedo’s.  After working with the guys some I then helped by gathering people for portraits (we had a 3 page list, so that took some time) .  After we finished the photos,  it was time for the outdoor ceremony at the gazebo.  Famous Dave’s provided the BBQ buffet and once the reception started, the briday party kicked things off with the boot scooting boogie and you can only image where it went from there.  It was great working with you again Brooke.

Ashley + Danny 6.12.09

This sunny and warm Friday afternoon I met the ladies at the Larkspur Landing hotel for some final preparation shots before heading to Gene Coulon Park for the first look and family photos.   The weather was spectacular and the park is always a great location for photos.  Then it was off to the Renton Community Center for the ceremony and reception. After the ceremony we went down to the river behind the community center to capture a few more shots of the couple in the last bit of good light.   It was fun working with Ashley and Danny and I wish them all the best.

Morgan and Thomas’ day after session

A few days after their wedding I met Morgan and Thomas back at Snoqualmie Falls for a day after session, which we did in place of their engagement session. A day after session can be many things, mainly it gives the couple and photographer a chance to do something that just isn’t possible on the wedding day.  There is no pressure, and couples can just have fun.  Early on Memorial Day we took the short hike down to the base of the falls where they changed back into their wedding attire and we spend about an hour scrambling arond the base of the falls even with Morgan not feeling all that well.

Keep a day after session in mind when thinking about your photography, I’ve never had anyone regret doing it, and and don’t worry the dress can be cleaned!
