OSP West Conference comes to Seattle!

Seattle - Dr. Rizal Park

My blog has been a bit slow lately, and here is one reason why!  I’ve been part of the planning team for this year’s conference. If you’re a photographer, and you love to learn, network, shoot, and pretty much have a great time, then join us at OSP West on April 17th-19th.  Folks have voted, and Seattle has won as the location for this year’s conference! What is OSP? It stands for Open Source Photo, it’s an online forum created by a fellow wedding photographer for nice people to share, network and grow.

With sponsors like Pixel 2 Canvas , Microsoft Icons of Imaging, Canon Explorers of Light, Bay Photo Lab, KISS Wedding Books, and Showit and with celebrated speakers like Mike Larson, MeRah Koh and Brian Townsend, Kevin Swan, Ken Sklute, Gene Higa, and Jim Garner, it’s bound to be a good time.

But wait, there’s more.  We have fantastic giveaways from our sponsors, photo shoots at Seattle’s Famous landmarks, dinners, and lots of networking opportunities, and it’s only $75 for the entire weekend!

For details and more information, visit the OSP West Wiki.

Photos from Las Vegas and WPPI

We had a great time at our annual wedding and portrait photography convention in Las Vegas last month. We stayed at the Platinum Hotel again becuase of all the amenities, and it’s great location. The last shot was from our balcony. And about the photos of  the desserts, if you are nearby you must go to Jean Philippe Patiserie in Bellagio, they have the most amazing looking and tasting desserts!

We also had two shoots planned while we were on at the Neon Museum’s bone yard, the storage facility of old hotel signs. We met up with photographer friends Bill and Erin and Laurel. We were joined by two ladies in wedding dresses.  And then later that night we had a  fun strip shoot with a couple I met last year, who are now married.  Enjoy the photos!

Peter + Rob 2.1.09

20090201_img_861420090201_img_797720090201_img_892620090201_img_801220090201_img_840420090201_img_8898

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, so I’d figure I’d start with the first wedding of the year! Hard to belive it’s already been a month since it’s happened!

I met up with all of the family at Hotel Deca in the University District for the final preparations.  Once everyone was ready to go we took the short ride down to the ceremony and reception location which was the Lakeside Events Center, located at the south end of Lake Union.  A few things to note about this wedding is that Peter went to Viet Nam to have his suit custom made, in addition he purchased hundreds of silk orchids (which looked just like the real thing) to compliment the fresh orchids that were flown in from Columbia a few days prior, the end result as you can see was pretty amazing.

Congratulations Peter and Rob, we were honored to share in your celebration!  We’ll also working on a  photo+video montage for them so look for that in the next month or two!
