Heather + Allen 11.08.08

After some torrential rains earlier in the week, the day turned out pretty good.  Temperatures were mild and we had some nice bright overcast with a few sun-breaks.  We arrived early at Lord Hill Farms to find Heather and Allen just getting settled in.  We checked things out, and then began photography, with a few shots of them getting ready, and then we decided to get outdoors for the first look and portraits.  Once it started to get dark, we headed back inside for the ceremony and reception.

We had a great time spending the day with them, and we were honored to be a part of their wedding day. Thanks again Heather and Allen!

Announcing a new wedding photography giveaway contest

While we have some great locations locally for weddings, I love to travel and experience as many unique and interesting locations as possible throughout the wedding season.  So starting today, I’m announcing my free wedding photography giveaway for 2009!

The requirements are pretty simple; the wedding needs to take place at a location I have not photographed before.  This location can be anywhere in or out of Washington State, but a preference would be in the Pacific Northwest, California or Vancouver, BC regions.  The more interesting location, the better (such as resorts, wineries or garden locations)

What you’ll receive if chosen; full day of wedding coverage, engagement portrait session (if located in Western Washington) two photographers, rehearsal dinner coverage or fun editorial style day-after or trash the dress session.  In addition you’ll have online viewing of images, digital negatives and DVD slideshow.  A retail value of over $3500!

Ok so what’s the catch, you ask?  Just a few things to remember about this contest, it will have to be for a day that I am actually available, some 2009 dates are already booked.  Your wedding must take place in 2009. Clients are required to pay for two nights lodging and any other travel fees (billed at actual cost). To be entered into this contest, please email me your wedding date and location and why you should be chosen for this contest.  I’ll confirm your entry when received. Entries must be received by midnight, December 21st.

To enter the contest, send me your details here (shortcut to my contact page).

The winner will be announced on my blog on December 24th!

New website – now live!

It’s finally live, after about a month of working on the details, my new website is finally live!  This site features a lot of improvements over the old site.

The first major improvement is image size, the photos are larger, you will notice a big difference, you can also go full screen, F11 for Internet Explorer users, for the maximum viewing size. Another new improvement is video, while not live on the site yet, I plan on adding some video content in the future. And finally new content has been added, it was about this time last year that I launched the old site so it was past time for updates.  I’ve also incorporated the portrait gallery back into the same site and have added a senior portrait section.

Can’t wait to see it? Here is a screen shot from the homepage below or better yet, why don’t you check it out for yourself, click here.

Kelly + Dewey’s e-session

It was a cold Sunday a few weeks ago, but another day with no rain! I met Kelly and Dewey at Mukilteo Landing Park right near the ferry dock.  We were hoping for a great sunset, but the clouds starting rolling in earlier in the afternoon but it still gave us some good light.   We explored the beach area and then headed over the lighthouse.  Thanks guys for a great session.

Rachel – Senior 2009

Rachel was one of my last outdoor shoots I had planned for the month of October. We had beautiful weather, and the fall color was spectacular.  We met up with Rachel and her mom at Kubota Gardens in South Seattle. She was a natural in front of the camera, and we had a great time with them at the park.

You can also view more images on the slideshow here.
