More blog posts coming soon!

Ok so I know I’m a bit behind on posting new material to the blog, but can you blame me?  I’ve been enjoying this amazing fall weather and working on a few “secret” projects.  I promise I’ll have some new posts in a couple days, thanks for your patience.

Katie + Chad 9.27.08

Katie and Chad were married at the historic Mt. Baker Presbyterian Church.  When I first arrived I noticed a great park area right out in front of the church, and knew this would be the place to take portraits.  The light was amazing, and we had perfect fall weather.

After the ceremony they descended the steps out in front of the church only to be assaulted by bubbles, and then it was time to walk down the street to the Mt. Baker Community Clubhouse for the short reception. When it was time to leave, the Red Mustang was waiting and appropriately decorated for their get away!

Katie and Chad, you were wonderful to work with and it was truly an honor to share in your special day.

Kim + Dylan 9.20.08

Kim and Dylan were married at the McMenamins Edgefield, in Troutdale, Oregon.  All of the McMenamins properties have some sort of history and this location is no exception. Built in 1911 it was originally run as a poor farm for Multnomah County.  In 1962 it became a nursing home until 1982.  McMemanins purchased the property in 1990 and it took four years to refurbish the buildings and grounds.  Edgefield is truly a destination report with nearly every amenity, including restaurants, a pub with a movie theater, a distillery, spa, winery with vineyards and a golf course.  With such a large property it’s not uncommon to have several weddings taking place at the same time; in fact I noticed there were four this day!

I met up with Kim at the Ruby Spa onsite for her makeup appointment before it was time for the final preparations back at her room. We took a few shots around the property with the girls, since they wouldn’t see each other until the ceremony. The grounds were beautiful and the gardens were still in full bloom.

The ceremony took place outdoors in the meadow, just behind Blackberry Hall (the reception site). We had time for a sneak away moment shortly after the ceremony and family portraits.

Thanks Kim and Dylan for a fun day, you guys were so great to work with.
