4th of July

This Fourth of July we were invited over to our friends John and Jenna’s for a party, but not just any party, it was John’s 40th birthday bash! Jenna had been planning this day for months! Later that evening we had perfect viewing for the city of Renton’s fireworks display at Gene Coulon Park.  I can’t think of a better group of people to spend the day with.

Some explanation on the photos, the first shot was Larry’s creation, not just flowers but fireworks too, and yes those are calla lilies from the garden. The second shot is our famous fruit salad (yes those are raspberries from the garden).

Happy 40th John!

Sparkle + Brent 7.5.08

After the 4th of July festivities I traveled down south again to Portland Oregon for the wedding of Sparkle and Brent.  The venue for their wedding was at the Riverside Golf and Country Club located just west of the airport.  The weather was not going to cooperate for outdoor photos until after the ceremony, but that was ok as they already planned an indoor ceremony.

In typical Chinese fashion Sparkle changed into three different types of dresses between the ceremony and reception, all of them with amazing detail and colors.

Please enjoy the photos!

Lisa + Kyle 7.3.08

Lisa and Kyle had their wedding at the beautiful High Cedar Golf Club in the shadow of Mt. Rainier near the small town of Orting.

This is one of the most stunning golf courses that I’ve seen in the area, it’s surrounded by lots of interesting trees. While we were hoping for a clear day, to see the mountain, the morning clouds never did burn off completely.  During the ceremony the sun did come out a bit, however.  Lisa and Kyle also wanted their kids (dogs) to be a part of the ceremony, so one of them became a part-time bridesmaid (complete with a matching dress) and the other was a ring bearer.

One thing interesting about their reception is that this is the first one I’ve seen where they had karaoke, which made things quite interesting.  Thanks guys for a fun day you were both great to work with.

Michelle and Darin’s e-session

I met up with Michelle and Darin first at Seattle’s Kerry Park and then we headed down to the Pike Place market to explore a few locations. Afterwards it was time for a little snack at Piroshky Piroshky, always worth a stop if you’re nearby.  Then it was off to find some first of the season Rainier cherries. Michelle and Darin’s wedding is coming up next month at Willows Lodge.

Heather and Allen’s e-session

I met up with Heather and Allen on an early Sunday morning a couple weeks ago for their engagement session at the UW Arboretum.  We had great weather and there were very few people in the park for their session. We even ventured out to Foster Island, but found the pathway still pretty wet.  They were still  willing to brave soggy pathway however, I’m glad we went because of my favorite shots was one of the last ones one the way back to the car, I created a silhouette shot from the walkway under SR520.  Their wedding is coming up later this November.
