iPhone and new macro lens arrived on Friday!

[gallery]

I have two new toys to report, the first is the long awaited iPhone which Larry patiently stood in line at the AT&T store for 5 hours on Friday afternoon to purchase. It’s an amazing device, with an incredible screen resolution and fast and easy to use features.

The second item to report is the 100mm f2.8 macro lens I recieved, I just tried it out at the wedding today and it will be with me on every shoot from now on.  For those that don’t know, a macro lens allows me to get really close to subjects and fill the frame with the image, creating a 1x magnifacation ratio (meaning an object can be photographed at acutal size). It’s also a great general portrait lens. I’ll be posting some shots from this new lens as they come up.  I had a great wedding today and will have some images up soon!

Hope everyone enjoyed the great weather this weekend!

6.21.07 – Melissa and Michael

[gallery]

I had an unusal weekday wedding last Thursday. Melissa and Michael wanted to do some portraits before the ceremony at various locations around Tacoma, so the total coverage for their day was for 10 hours. We had a great time running around the city in the limos. The weather was actually good, managed to stay mostly sunny thoughout the day. We even made a quick stop for coffee and and quick withdrawal at the ATM before heading off to Windmill Gardens in my hometown of Sumner for the ceremony and reception.

It was great working with you again, I wish you both all the best!

6.17.07 – Erica and Jason’s e-session

I first met up with Erica and Jason at there home where we took some photos of them and their 4 month old son. The weather has caused the delay of this enagement session a couple weeks ago, so we had a backup plan just in case, well it was a good thing because about 5 minutes after ariving at the Edmonds waterfront park, it started to rain, so we went up the street to the downtown area to finish the session. It worked great as there were overhangs above the sidewalks, we even found some interesting places you might not othewise think of that can be used for portraits. It was great working with you both and I enoyed the nice walking tour of downtown Edmonds!

6.16.07 – Jennifer and Brian

[gallery]

On Saturday morning I met up with Jennifer and Brian at the Portland First Church of the Nazarene on the West hills. The church is huge; it had four different levels. It was a bit overcast and we had intermittent showers bit still managed to get outside for some great photo ops. Hope you both enjoy your trip to Hawaii! You were one of the best couples to work with!

Thanks to Bill Cawley for assisting me with coverage, and helping with the lighting during the portraits!

6.15.07 – Bri and Wolfgang’s portrait session

This past weekend I was down in Portland, Oregon for a wedding again and made a quick evening photoshoot with Bri and Wolfgang near there home in Southwest Portland. They have acutally been married for two years, but welcomed the opportunity to get some great photos. They had contacted me from a post I made on craigslist looking for couples last winter. It finally worked out for us both to finally schedule the shoot, even though we had some other ideas a few months ago.

They are both personal trainers and very athletic, so I had an idea for their photoshoot. You can see where I was going by looking at the samples! They were fun to work with and very comfortable with each other and the camera, I may have some more ideas (something involving water) for them if they are willing to do another shoot!
