It’s been a busy week and now I’m finally getting to the images of Heidi and Brian’s wedding from last Sunday at the Sorrento Hotel in downtown. They were a very easy going and relaxed couple to work with and I had a blast photographing their wedding.

Some interesting facts about the couple, they both just opened a restaurant in Edmonds called Shell Creek Grill & Wine Bar. Instead of a traditional guest-book, guests were asked to sign a magnum sized bottle of wine.  Then, when it came time to cut the cake, Brian brought out his father’s naval sword, which had been used to cut the cake at previous family weddings.

This past Saturday I photographed Melissa and Michael in Seattle for their engagement session.  I met up with them at Red Robin at the waterfront where they bought me lunch (thanks guys!) then we headed off to West Seattle and Alki Beach. After walking the beach we decided for different scenery and drove to the arboretum and then back to downtown for one final stop at the Pike Place Market to pick up some flowers and photo op.  It was great spending the afternoon with them, and I look forward to seeing them in just a couple months for their wedding.

I had two shoots on Sunday. My first shoot of the day was in the morning up at the Skagit Valley tulip festival. I photographed Islando and Ukoiya, they are both acrobatic performers in the area. We decided to get various shots with them in the tulip fields. They were great to work with lots of creative ideas, despite the cold weather. Towards the end we were even drawing a crowd of onlookers.

Later that afternoon I was back in Seattle at Discovery Park to photograph Anna and Michael’s engagement session. We explored the south end of the park at the bluff overlooking Puget Sound, we could even see a bit of Mt. Rainier.  I look forward to working with Anna and Michael later this summer; they are getting married at a beautiful private garden on Whidbey Island.

Another busy weekend coming up, I have another engagement session and wedding in Seattle.  

I’ll be up at the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival this Sunday April 15th conducting a special portait event. I had so much fun with Matt and Dena last year I’ve decided to make this an annual event. I have a couple sessions planned, but if you plan on being in the area please let me know!
