Kristin and Mark’s Wedding – Alderbrook Resort, Union

It’s hard to fine a more perfect location for an outdoor wedding, the scenery here is stunning. And the staff is here to make sure you have everything you need.

I first met up with Kristin at the resort where the ladies were getting ready, then we headed to a private home they were renting for the weekend just down the road from the resort. It was there we had the first look and portraits then a little down time. The ceremony took place on the lawn overlooking the views of the Olympic Mountains and Hood Canal.

Kristin and Mark, I enjoyed working with you, and wish you both a lifetime of happiness.

Karen and Devon’s Wedding – Tibbetts Creek Manor, Issaquah

Another beautiful day, what can I say I love outdoor weddings, especially when you have great light, and Karen and Devon’s wedding took full advantage of the outdoor opportunities at this venue.

We know Karen as she works in the office at Babich Chiropratic, the official chiropractor of Steve Smith Photography! We enjoyed getting to know Karen and Devon’s family and friends and thanks to Susan Lee from Brides on a Budget , for all your work to make sure their day went smoothly.

Brenda and Eric’s Wedding – Trinity Lutheran Church and Courtyard Marriott Tacoma

Brenda and Eric came to us as a referral from Nicole, a former bride of ours now turned wedding planner. She owns and operates her own company, Events by Indulgence. We know that working with a skilled wedding planner that the details would be taken care of, and they were. We met up first with everyone while they were getting ready at the church, it was a sunny, warm summer afternoon. We made arrangements for their first look outside the church and then some formal portraits were taken inside the church. After the heartfelt ceremony we all departed to downtown Tacoma to gather for the reception celebration,after capturing some details of the reception room, we took the bridal party away for a quick sneak away moment nearby the UW campus and Pacific Avenue. Once we returned, the bridal party was announced into the the reception where guests were waiting. The party at this adult only reception continued well into the evening, and long after we left.

Congratulations Brenda and Eric, is was great working with you both. Nicole thank you for the business, a pleasure working with you again!

This summer after a six year wait, we were finally accepted into the 2012 Seattle Wedding Show. So if you are planning on coming to the show in January, you can find us at booth #1128.

April + Bobby’s Wedding – Mountain Home Lodge, Leavenworth

The great thing about photographing weddings is that sometimes we get to take longer road trips to venue locations, and Mountain Home Lodge near the town of Leavenworth is a breataking location for a wedding. Nestled above the town of Leavenworth this private lodge has amazing views of the surrounding mountains. It’s the perfect venue for smaller more intimate weddings, and the proprietors Brad and Kathy will make sure you have a first class experience. I actually never met April and Bobby until their wedding day as they were moving across the country to Spokane, Washington. I was honored to be chosen to capture their special day and had a great time with family and friends.

Heather + Steven’s Wedding – Crystal Ponds Park, Enumclaw

I always love visiting new venues, and this one was a hidden gem. It’s called Crystal Ponds Park located near the King County Fairgrounds in Enumclaw, this private park is the perfect venue for an outdoor wedding, there was tons of space to accommodate all the guests, and several ponds on the property some even stocked with trout. When we arrived final preparations were taking place, and then we staged Heather and Steven for their first look followed by portraits. It was a cloudy day to start but right about the time for the ceremony the sun started to breakthrough. The reception featured live music from the father of the bride’s band, and sister of the bride, and even a little Karaoke from the family members, bridal party and guests. We had a great time with Heather and Steven, and were trilled to be a part of their day.

Emily + Nathan – Five years later

Emily and Nathan were married five years ago at the World Trade Center in Seattle. Nathan called me early last week to see if I had availability for a photo session to mark the occasion, as luck would have it, I had no weddings for that Saturday. The weather was perfect, sunny and 72 degrees! We met up for the session at Settler’s Landing park right down along the Kirkland waterfront. This park is small, and tucked between two luxury condos, it’s actually pretty easy to miss. It was also not very busy that day, which is always a good thing. Being next to high end condos, it’s also nicely landscaped and has beautiful views of the lake.

It’s always pleasure working with former clients again, and I had a great time with them. Here are a few selections from their session.

Mandy + Robert – Wallace Falls Lodge Wedding

Near the famous Wallace Falls in Goldbar is a fantastic Bed and Breakfast called Wallace Falls Lodge. This large, log cabin like structure sits on 10 acres with a 180 degree view of the cascade mountains.

Mandy and Robert thought this would be a perfect place for friends and family to gather for their wedding weekend. The weather was a bit cold and wet (no suprise) so they opted for an indoor ceremony in the great room of the lodge where guests overlooked the ceremony from one of three levels. After the ceremony the sun peeked out for a bit, so we took full advantage of that and were able to get some portraits outside, even took Mandy and Robert for a little walk around the property.

One thing that was really unique about their wedding was their guestbook. They had a green ink pad and asked each of the guests to leave fingerprints (leaves) on their wedding tree.

It was a relaxing drive to Goldbar and I enjoyed my time with Mandy and Robert, I hope your trip to Mexico was amazing!
