Dara + Ryan 8.7.10

Dara and Ryan are from Boise Idaho but held their wedding here to be close to friends and family.  It was one of those rare rainy summer days, so going outside for any photos was a slim chance.   The ceremony was performed by Ryan’s dad at the Kent Nazarene Church.  Dara called me in a panic just two months before her wedding as there was a problem with their other photographer and as luck had it I was available.  It was great working with them and I enjoyed spending the day with them.

Karen + Jerry 8.5.10

It was just five days ago I had a wedding at Willows Lodge, I was glad to return to one of my favorite wedding locations.   This wedding would be a smaller,  intimate wedding,  and on the rare weekday evening.  Karen and Jerry are from Michigan but chose Willows Lodge for their wedding because of some family from here.  Karen and Jerry were blessed with a beautiful evening with great weather and amazing light.  It was so great working with them both and even though we never meet in person prior to the wedding day I felt like I’ve known them for awhile.

Enjoy a few photos from their day.

Lisa + Len 7.30.10

Lisa and Len were married at one of my favorite northwest wedding destinations, The Willows Lodge in Woodinville.  The garden area at the lodge was a perfect backdrop for their evening wedding.   Lisa and Len started things off with a first look in the lobby and then a few photos of them and the family around the lodge while cocktails were served to the guests on the patio.   Jenn and the staff at Willows did an amazing job as usual making sure everyone was well cared for.

Congratulations again Lisa and Len, and it was truly an honor to spend the evening with you.

Janet + James 7.17.10

Janet and James were married at the lovely Alderbrook Resort tucked along the shores of the Hood Canal near Union.   This location is one I was looking forward to visiting for quite sometime, as it features a similar feel to one of my favorite locations the Willows Lodge in Woodinville.   It was a beautiful Summer day with temperatures just perfect for an outdoor wedding on the lawn overlooking the water.

We started the day with a first look and then James had a special suprise for Janet, a friend of his stopped by to take them for a quick spin in a 1959 Rollys Royce!  The ceremony and cocktail hour took place on the waterfront lawn, with dinner inside in the Olympic Ballroom.  Before the evening was over we managed a few other photo ops outdoors and on the dock.  Thanks Janet and James for a fun day!

Jackie and Mike 7.24.10

Jackie and Mike had their wedding at an unusual location, it’s called the Trollhaugen Lodge, a popular winter sport destination.   It’s located in the cascade mountains, which is  just over the other side of Snoquamie Pass near the town of Easton.  It was a warm day with temperatures climbing into the 90’s but the heavy forest provided lots of shade and a cooler climate.

I first arrived to capture some final preparations with the ladies, then a few portraits with the guys.   We then walked down the path to the ceremony location, where Mike sang as his lovely bride walked down the isle.   After the ceremony the bridal party and I headed to the nearby lake for some fun portraits then to lodge for a BBQ dinner.   Thanks Jackie and Mike for a fun day!
